Prizes & Judging

Over $10k in prizes will be awarded to the top three projects, with additional prizes for the winners of several categories: Best Beginner, Crowd Favorite, and Most Sci-Fi/Creative. If Presidio Bitcoin is especially impressed, there is also the potential to win a three-month membership to Presidio Bitcoin to continue work on a winning project.

Judging will take the following form:

1. There will be a “science-fair” style showcase where teams can present their hacks to anyone present at the event. Judges will go booth to booth; teams deliver a one minute timed presentation where they pitch their creation. During this time, hackers are welcome to hang out and socialize with other teams.

2. After judges have seen presentations from all teams, they will select five teams to give a 3-5 minute live presentation in front of everyone. Presentations will be live-streamed for online viewers, and we will leverage a Lightning-powered voting system so that remote viewers can support their favorite projects.

3. Judges will convene to discuss presentations, review Lightning votes, and decide on the hackathon winners based on three main judging criteria: Routine Difficulty, Routine Execution, and General Effect.
