The Challenge
The challenge is simple: build on Bitcoin. Hackers are free to tackle this task however they like, whether that involves “vibe coding” or old-school hand-typed coding.
Schedule
Friday, May 16: Kick-off at 6 pm with technical workshops from our sponsors, Bitcoin video games (Mario Kart), and food. Hackers form teams and may work and sleep at Presidio Bitcoin overnight.
Saturday, May 17: Optional educational panels and expert assistance are available for hackers, alongside a Lightning-integrated Mario Kart tournament. Judging begins at 5 pm, with awards announced by 8 pm.
Transportation
$75 of Uber credits will be provided to each hacker for transportation to / from the hackathon. Hackers may also use these credits to return home to sleep instead of spending the night. We strongly encourage you to carpool so that the Uber credits will cover the entirety of your travel.
Networking
Prominent Bitcoin-related companies, VCs, and organizations will be attending, including Block, Spiral, Lightspark, Hivemind Ventures, Human Rights Foundation, Alby, Fewsats, and Lexe. The hackathon is a valuable opportunity to network and inquire about job opportunities and potential venture investments.
Education
At the start of the hackathon, sponsors will provide mini-workshops to introduce developers to their tools and products. Throughout the hackathon, mentors will be available to help you build novel solutions that integrate Lightning payments, Nostr, and more.
